Match 26 Hole-by-Hole Fulke v Love III match halved

Hole 18 - With the Cup won by Europe, the players decide not to play to the 18th green and agree to a halved match.

Hole 17 - Love faces a ten-foot birdie putt to win the hole but it misses on the right after Fulke also misses on the left. Match all-square.

Hole 16 - Fulke has chance to win the hole with 25 footer but it stays up on right. Love drives into right rough, then finds front bunker. After splashing out Love misses on left for bogey. Match all-square.

Hole 15 - Fulke holes a brave six-footer for a par and Love follows him in for a half in fives. USA one-up.

Hole 14 - Love birdies again to suddenly tilt the balance in America's favour. USA one-up.

Hole 13 - Love holes out again for a birdie-three to square the match.

Hole 12 - Hole halved in par 3's

Hole 11 - Fulke holes from 12 feet for birdie to go ahead for the first time. Europe one-up.

Hole 10 - Holes halved in par fours. Match all-square.

Hole 9 - Love loses his lead with a bogey-five as Fulke secures a par. Match all-square.

Hole 8 - Fulke fails to match a birdie three by Love. USA one-up.

Hole 7 - Hole halved in par threes. Match all square.

Hole 6 - Hole halved in par fours. Match all-square.

Hole 5 - Fulke secures a birdie-three to Love's par four. Match all square.

Hole 4 - Hole halved in par fours. USA one-up.

Hole 3 - Hole halved in par fives. USA one-up.

Hole 2 - Holes halved in fours. USA one up.

Hole 1 - Fulke falls behind at the par four as Love opens with a birdie-three. USA one up.

did you know?
1961 saw all matches reduced from 36 holes to 18 which has remained the position since. In 1963 fourball matches were introduced and the overall match extended to three days from the previous two.
