The new, realigned back tee is intended to encourage driving across the bunker at the corner of the sharp dog-leg right and drifting the ball round into a position offering the chance to go for the green in two. But it is vital to hit the fairway; run through it or finish in the bunker and the stream in front of the green comes dangerously into play for the next shot. Also, the fairway bunkers just over the stream have been revetted and strengthened to make a tight approach all the more menacing.
