Hole 16, Par 4, 413 Yards, 378 Metres

The wind usually helps at this hole so there will be a lot of long, left-to-right drives leaving a short iron approach to a ridged, sloping green with remodelled bunkers. It�s a chance to draw breath before tackling the all-demanding final two holes. Substantial mounding to the left offers spectators a fine view of attacking golf.

Today's Pin Placement

1961 saw all matches reduced from 36 holes to 18 which has remained the position since. In 1963 fourball matches were introduced and the overall match extended to three days from the previous two.
